Who We Are

YAIC is an Agribusiness value chain development social enterprise founded with the mission of transforming livelihoods through supporting profitable youth and women engagement in agribusiness. YAIC envisions a transformed African rural subsistence farming economy to a vibrant market oriented farming economy where every farming household can afford a decent living.

Our interventions are designed to employ Market Systems Development (MSD) approach in addressing five bottlenecks that hinder successful engagement of youth and women into agribusiness space;

  1. Inadequate agribusiness skills
  2. Inadequate access to quality inputs
  3. Poor access to agribusiness financing
  4. Inadequate market access
  5. Devastating effects of climate change

We believe by transforming farming from subsistence to market oriented/commercial farming, will certainly not only improve household livelihoods but create employment opportunities for the unemployed youth and women.

For the last couple of years, we have focused on building farmers resilience to effects of climate change using one acre integrated intensive farming system (IIFS) approach that enhances household income & nutritional security.
